Case study: Park Cakes

A major UK bakery manufacturer with improvement opportunities hidden across its day-to-day operations. We ran the full FOFO Process™: listening across the organisation, surfacing the opportunities their people could see, and bringing manufacturing and technical leadership together to rank where digital investment could deliver the greatest value.

The situation

Park Cakes knew there were opportunities to improve how work was done across the site, but many of them were busy in everyday processes, workarounds and manual tasks. The people closest to the work understood where the friction was, but there was no single, evidence-based view of those opportunities, or a way to determine which were worth solving first. The challenge wasn’t finding more technology; it was uncovering where digitalisation could create the greatest business value.

What we ran

01: AI Compass™

A bespoke diagnostic across the Park Cakes operation, listening to the people doing the work to uncover the everyday friction, workarounds and improvement opportunities they could see. Their insight was turned into a clear set of evidence-backed focus points for digitalisation.

02: Slid3rs™

The surfaced opportunities were then scored by Park Cakes’ own people against business value and delivery complexity. This turned the insight from across the operation into a clear, evidence-based ranking of where digital investment could deliver the greatest return.

03: FlowRoom®

We created a FlowRoom® concept on-site in the Park Cakes boardroom, bringing manufacturing and technical leadership together around the same opportunities. The team worked through the scoring and differences in perspective in real time, creating shared alignment on which opportunities should move forward first.

The outcome

One clear, prioritised view of where Park Cakes should focus its digital investments, built from the insight of its own people and agreed by manufacturing and technical leadership. From Shop-floor to Top-floor.

The process turned operational friction into defined opportunities, then ranked those opportunities by business value and delivery complexity. Park Cakes could see what was worth pursuing first, why it mattered, and where digitalisation could deliver the greatest return.

Park Cakes

“Slid3rs™ helped us prioritise with data, not guesswork, turning noise into signal. It gave us the visibility we never had, surfacing real digitalisation needs directly from the teams doing the work.”

Case study: Merck Life Sciences

A complex manufacturing operation with digital improvement opportunities across functions, but no single view of where investment would create the greatest value. We ran the FOFO Process™ to listen across the organisation, uncover and qualify the opportunities their people could see, and turn them into a clear, evidence-based set of priorities for digital investment.

The situation

Across seventeen departments, from the shop floor to senior leadership, people could see different opportunities to improve the operation. The challenge was bringing those perspectives together: creating a single, evidence-based view of where the real opportunities were and which were most valuable to pursue.

What we ran

01: AI Compass™

AI Compass™ listened across seventeen departments, from the shop floor to senior leadership, capturing quantitative and qualitative insight from the people doing the work. More than 150 areas of friction and opportunity were surfaced, then analysed and consolidated into clear focus points for change.

02: Slid3rs™

Merck’s own people scored the resulting focus points against business value and delivery complexity. This created an evidence-based ranking that separated tactical opportunities from larger strategic priorities, and showed leadership where investment could create the greatest value.

03: FlowRoom®

We created a FlowRoom® concept on-site at Merck, bringing business, operational and technical teams together around the opportunities surfaced by AI Compass™. Merck’s own people worked through the priorities together, using the Slid3rs™ scoring to create shared alignment on where to focus and what should move forward.

The outcome

One prioritised roadmap built on evidence from seventeen departments, rather than the opinion of whoever was in the room. A fast, low-risk way to see exactly where investment would have the greatest impact.

Merck

“Agentic AI interviewed everyone from shop floor to senior leadership. It found over 150 precise friction points and fixes, backed by evidence rather than opinion. A fast, low-risk way to find out exactly where your dollars will have the greatest impact.”

Head of Operations UK & Israel, Merck Life Sciences

How the cost comparison is calculated

Two figures appear on the homepage: £15,800 billed against a £490,750 benchmark, and fees up to 95% lower. This is the arithmetic behind them, and the limits of the claim.

The benchmark: a consulting firm

The scope is a full diagnostic and roadmap: interview 280 people across the organisation, extrapolate the change targets, agree priorities with leadership, then deliver the transformation roadmap.

A consulting firm staffs work of that size with a mixed team. Taking one junior consultant, three mid-level consultants and one senior consultant, across three months: 5 people × 13 weeks × 5 days = 325 consultant days.

Day rates for that team are £550 junior, £1,500 mid-level and £2,500 senior. The junior is £550 a day, the three mid-level consultants £4,500 and the senior £2,500, so the team costs £7,550 a day. Over 65 working days that is £490,750, excluding VAT and expenses.

Day rate source: ConsultingDemand, UK consulting day rates 2025 to 2026. Rates exclude VAT.

The FOFO Process™, billed

The same scope through AI Compass™, Slid3rs™ and FlowRoom® is billed at £15,800. Against the £490,750 benchmark that is £474,950 less, a reduction of 97%.

We publish “up to 95%” rather than 97% because headcount, duration and day rate all vary by engagement. A smaller organisation, a narrower question or a lower rate card all narrow the gap.

What the figure is not: it is not a guaranteed saving, it is not a claim about your bottom line, and it is not a comparison against a quote you have already received. It is a like-for-like scope comparison at published market rates. Ask us to run it against your own numbers.

FAQ

Common questions.

How is the £15,800 vs £490,750 figure calculated?

It’s a like-for-like scope comparison: the same diagnostic-and-roadmap scope staffed by a typical UK consulting team at published day rates comes to £490,750; the same scope run as the FOFO Process™ was billed at £15,800. See the full calculation and its limits below.

Is the 95% saving guaranteed?

No. We publish “up to 95%” because headcount, duration and day rate vary by engagement. It is not a guaranteed saving or a comparison against a quote you’ve already received.
