About: our principles and positions
What we will and won’t do, written down before we start.
Most consultancies keep their operating rules private, which is how scope quietly becomes revenue. Ours are on this page so you can hold us to them.
Principles
Eight rules we run every engagement by.
We do the right thing, even when the wrong thing pays better.
If AI Compass™ tells you the honest answer is “not yet” or “you don’t need us,” we say so. We’d rather lose the engagement than sell you a programme you don’t need.
We’re creative at heart, not administrators of a template.
Every AI Compass™, Slid3rs™ and FlowRoom® is built 100% bespoke, for that one engagement. Each platform starts blank and is shaped entirely by what your organisation puts into it, so what comes out the other end is your artefact, not ours.
Evidence beats opinion, including our own.
Every recommendation traces back to a score, and every score to a named person. We don’t get to be the loudest voice in the room, and neither does anyone else.
Your people do the scoring. We run the method.
The judgement has to stay with the people who live with the roadmap. We’re not in the room to be right. We’re in the room to make sure the right answer has somewhere to surface.
Honesty over comfort.
We tell you what the data says, not what’s easiest to hear in the meeting. If priorities have stalled because of a person, not a process, we’ll say that too.
We don’t sell the build.
We’re not paid more for a longer roadmap or a bigger programme. Where you need delivery, we introduce a partner from the network. We don’t become one ourselves.
Small and fast beats big and slow.
A diagnostic runs in weeks. A FlowRoom® session takes a day. If a decision can’t be reached in that window, the scope was wrong, not the timeline.
We’re pragmatists.
Perfect data isn’t the point. A decision you can defend, revisit and act on today beats a perfect one you’re still debating next quarter.
Positions
Four things we think the market gets wrong.
AI is not a strategy.
“Adopt AI” is a budget line, not a decision. The decision is which specific constraint in your operation is worth removing first, and whether AI is the cheapest way to remove it.
Maturity scores rarely change anything.
Being told you are a 2.7 out of 5 against a benchmark is not actionable. A ranked list of your own targets, scored by your own people, is.
Buy-in is not a communications exercise.
Alignment sought after a decision is persuasion. Alignment built into how the decision was made is durable. That is why the scoring happens in the room, together.
The bottleneck is choosing, not building.
Most organisations we meet can deliver. What stalls them is a list of twenty credible ideas and no defensible way to pick the first three.
If we think a diagnostic won’t answer your question, we will say so on the scoping call rather than sell you one.
